Small batch British tinned seafood from new Cornish cannery, Hevva!

This is a hearty, flavour-packed soup made from rope-grown Cornish mussels, pot-caught Devon crab and Cornish squid.

Bouillabaisse is a rich fish soup that originated in Marseille, initially a practical peasant dish that utilised all the leftover fish from the day’s catch. Today, every region has its own take on this famous fish soup. This is the West Country’s. Home-cooked and hand-prepared using quality ingredients at Norton Barton, a 350-acre farm in Bude on the dramatic North Cornwall coast, where the cannery is located.

Hevva! uses small batches of fish, crustaceans and shellfish caught sustainably in UK waters. Like us, it uses the Marine Conservation Society’s Good Fish Guide to determine which fish to work with (A rating between 1 and 4 is considered sustainable).

Hevva! - Cornish for "Here they are!" - was the cry raised by huers, the fishermen stationed at hillside lookouts above the Cornish coast, when a shoal of pilchards swam into view. It was the signal to man the boats and head out to sea.

The Hevva! range is one we’ve watched evolve from initial idea (tins steeped in Cornish tradition that sit well in city delis) to finished (on point) product. When Hevva! first approached us for tips on packaging and the kinds of products UK customers might enjoy late last year, we jumped at the chance to get involved. Today, we couldn't be more impressed with what Hevva! has created.
